CONTRACT VACANCY

Applications are hereby invited from Namibian citizens for appointment in the following CONTRACT vacancy:

 

PROCUREMENT OFFICER
(1 October 2018 until 21 December 2018)
 (Paterson C3 Band)

 

Purpose of job: Performs professional work of advanced difficulty in Council’s Procurement Management Unit.  Responsible for coordinating and assisting with sustainable procurement initiatives, coordinating procurement throughout Council/Public Entity, providing support to all user departments, monitoring internal procurement systems, supporting procurement projects across all Council’s user departments, providing procurement advice to user departments and assisting venders/suppliers as well as the Evaluation and Procurement Committee.

Key Performance areas: The successful candidate will be responsible to execute the following tasks:

  • Coordinates procurement activities;
  • Planning functions;
  • Execute Administration functions;
  • Administrative Service to the Bid Evaluation and Procurement Committee; and
  • Technical Functions.

 

Requirements: Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma in Procurement / Supply Chain Management (NQF 6); 3 years’ experience in a Procurement / Supply Chain or Commerce environment; Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software and a Code B driver’s license.

MANAGER: DESIGN OFFICE & BUILDING CONTROL
 (Paterson D3 Band)

Purpose of job: To directs, manages, supervises and co-ordinates the activities and operations of the Design Office & Building Control within the Engineering Services Department including identification, planning, design and implementation of capital projects and building control.

Key Performance areas: The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Strategic management;
  • Financial management;
  • Technical management;
  • Procurement documentation and process;
  • Policies and procedures;
  • Human resources management;
  • Communication and occupational health, safety, environment and quality management (HSEQ).

Requirements:    Applicants must be in possession of a B-Tech Degree or Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering/Architecture on NQF Level 7; 5 years’ experience in Local Government Engineering or Building Environment of which 3 years should be in a managerial/supervisory level.  The applicant must be registered with the Engineering Council of Namibia as a Professional or an Incorporated Engineer or as Architect with the Namibian Council of Architects and Quantity Surveyors; and be in possession of a valid Code B Drivers Licence.
