MAINTENANCE NOTICE AND PARTIAL CLOSURE OF SAM NUJOMA AVE. FROM SUDSTRAND- UNTILL NATHANAEL MAXUILILI STREET.
The public is hereby informed that the Swakopmund Municipality will be doing Re-sealing maintenance in Sam Nujoma Ave. The re-sealing will be done in sections from Südstrand- until Nathanael Maxuilili Street and the roadway closed between intersections. Motorists are urged to make use of alternative routes until construction is completed as to avoid congestion due to the partial closure of these sections of road. Motorists are also requested to please adhere to traffic signs during the construction period. The Swakopmund Municipality would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during the maintenance period.

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE AND TEMPORY CLOSURE: THE B2 ROAD FROM AIRPORT TURN-OFF TO THE TRAFFIC CIRCLE AT NELSON MANDELA AVE
The public is hereby informed that the Swakopmund Municipality will be constructing a Traffic Circle on the B2 road at the Swakopmund Airport turn-off. Motorists should make use of the by-pass into and out of town and alternative routes until construction is completed as to avoid congestion due to the closure of this section. Motorists are also requested to please adhere to traffic signs during the construction period. The Swakopmund Municipality would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during the upgrading.

Project SHINE
Our Environment Our Responsibility
Project Shine is once again calling on all non-profit organizations, to apply for the Project Shine clean-up campaign which is to commence in June 2016.
Project Shine is aimed at cleaning predetermined areas on the exit roads to and from Swakopmund, the Swakopmund river mouth, beaches and open spaces within Swakopmund of littering, especially glass bottles and plastic bags dumped on the side of the roads and in open spaces.
Non-profit organization like sports clubs, churches, schools and community disadvantage groups are urged to apply.
Application forms can be collected at the Swakopmund Municipality, Health Department on C/O Rakotoka St & Daniel Kamho Avenue.
Entries for the cleanup campaign will close on the
20 May 2016.

ILLEGAL DUMPING OF WASTE
The Swakopmund Municipality Health Department is hereby giving a notice to all residents residing within the Municipal area that illegal dumping of waste on open spaces as well as unoccupied premises is prohibited.
This notice is given in terms of the provision of The Waste Management Regulation: Local Authority Act, 1992, “prohibition of dumping” under chapter 5 stipulates that;
48. (1) A person may not dump or deposit waste on any premises unless authorised for that purpose in writing by the council and subject to any conditions which may be imposed by the council.
Persons or parties that fail to comply with the aforementioned regulations are guilty of an offence and will be prosecuted.
