The Corporate Services department has three main functions which can be divided into Administrative, Property and Human Resources function.

Plans and manages the Civil Defence Action Plan which includes the emergency plan for the town.

Managers the day to day operations of the Department and personnel.
2. Provides legal advice.
3. Manages all property transactions, particularly new developments.
4. Manages Council’s and Management Committee meeting agenda and minutes.
5. Prepares operational & capital budget.
6. Manage a secure, cost-effective and efficient record management system

Administration
Handles all matters and reports requiring the management Committee or Council’s attention for purposes of decision-making
Compiles all minutes and agenda’s for the Management Committee and Council Meetings
Arranges the annual election of Council’s Office Bearers
Issues a quarterly newsletter “The Swakopmunder Lightbeams”
Handles the Central Registry Files / Archives and the Internal Library
Generally responsible for administrative issues within the Municipality of Swakopmund
