The Chief Executive Officer's focus is to manage the long-term strategy for the municipality. To execute Council resolutions, to exercise overall financial control. To advise Council on all relevant matters and appoint and manage staff.

Develops the municipalities strategy and direction in conformity with Council's overall strategy and financial plan and manages the Municipality as a whole taking full account of the political interface and policy directives. |

Discusses
development proposal with developers and entrepreneurs. |

Represents the Municipality on national bodies and committees particularly national planning development and advisory committees. |

Represents the Municipality in dealings with the media. |
