Project Shine is once again calling on all non-profit organizations, to apply for the Project Shine clean-up campaign which is to commence in June 2019.
Project Shine is aimed at cleaning predetermined areas on the exit roads to and from Swakopmund, the Swakopmund river mouth, beaches and open spaces within Swakopmund of littering, especially glass bottles and plastic bags dumped on the side of the roads and in open spaces.

Non-profit organizations like sports clubs, churches, schools and community groups are advised to apply.

Application forms can be collected at the Swakopmund Municipality, Health Department on C/O Rakotoka St & Daniel Kamho Avenue.

Entries for the cleanup campaign will close on the 24 May 2019.

Applications clearly marked – NOTICE 25/2019/HS: PROJECT SHINE CLEAN-UP CAMPAIGN 2018 must be placed into a sealed envelope and addressed to the General Manager Health Services, Municipal Office, cnr Daniel Kamho Avenue and Rakotoka Street, Swakopmund or be posted to the General Manager Health Services at P O Box 53, Swakopmund before the closing date:

INTERIM VALUATION ROLL OF
SITE AND IMPROVEMENTS 2019

In terms of the provisions of Section 69 of the Local Authorities Act, No 23 of 1992, as amended, notice is hereby given that an interim valuation roll of site and improvements in respect of all rateable property situated within the Swakopmund Municipal Area for the period ending 31 March 2019 lies open for inspection during ordinary office hours as from 07:30 until 16:00 at the Municipal Office Building, situated at the corner of Daniel Kamho Avenue and Rakotoka Street, Office E0-25A (Finance Department), for a period of 21 days from Friday, 17 May 2019.

Objections against any of these valuations in the roll must be lodged with the Chief Executive Officer in writing on the prescribed form available in Office E0-25A (Finance Department), on or before Friday, 07 June 2019 and must state the grounds on which the objections will be lodged.

A Valuation Court will be held at the Magistrate’s Office, Swakopmund, on Monday, 24 June 2019 at 14:00 to consider the roll and the written objections lodged. The objector or duly authorised representatives should be present at the Valuation Court Hearing.

Please note that on 24 April 2012, Council in principle approved the adjustment of the due date for the payment of consumer accounts to the 7th of each month and that the adjustment be implemented as from 01 July 2013.

Consumers are hereby reminded to pay their accounts before the 7th of each month and no longer the 15th of each month. The Municipal Cashiers are open weekly from 7H30 until 15H30 from Mondays to Thursdays and from 7H30 until 15H00 on Fridays  as well as during the lunch hours (13H00-14H00) weekly.
